This unique project was conceptualised by the client wishing to utilise his knowledge of containers and steel fabrication into a weekender home in the steep escarpments of Lithgow.
The bushfire prone property meant that strict measures had to be put to place in the design of the project to ensure the safety and integrity of the structure during a bushfire.
The design and linking of the containers is much like a game of jenga, with 12 containers used both vertically and horizontally on the project designed to create a large open living space with void above in this 3 storey dwelling.
The stacked effect of the containers used a verticallly placed container as the linking stairwell, a viewing platform was designed to appreciate the incredible views over the valley.
